Polish Government plans to introduce gay marriage via recognition of Private International Law

The Polish government wants to introduce gay marriage through the back door - which claims at least the right-wing opposition party Law and Justice (PiS).

This is a law on private international law. It governs what happens when foreign and Polish law meet. Among other things, the law also recognizes all marriages entered into abroad automatically in Poland. The law has now been decided, inter alia, the right-wing ruling party "Citizens' Forum" (PO) and the opposition "Alliance of Democratic Left (SLD), also voting against the ruling coalition PSL peasant party.

The Parliament had "adopted the same-sex marriage in Poland," outraged spokesman Adam Hofman PiS after the vote in the Sejm, the Polish lower house. And club chairman Mariusz Blaszczak adds: "The Sejm has passed a law that contradicts the Constitution, the moral order of the state acts and violates the beliefs of the majority of our citizens." His hope that the Senate should not confirm the law will not be met but well: There, the PO, the absolute majority.

Whether the new law same-sex couples who married abroad, really get rights in Poland, is unclear: for Justice Minister Krzysztof Kwiatkowski from the PO change the law alter the fact that "after the Polish legal system, a marriage is only a connection between women and man "was. The former constitutional judge Andrzej Maczynski is certainly there, however not so sure: The newspaper "Nasz Dziennik" he said, it is entirely possible that these couples can infer the future in Poland by the law rights.
