6 Transgender Murders in 60 Days

The international human rights organization Human Rights Watch called on the Government of Honduras to investigate increasingly frequent murders of transgender women in the country quickly and thoroughly. In the last sixty days, six murders were committed, but not a single arrest offenders or suspects identified. The LGBT community in Honduras live dangerously.

Six transgender women since 29 November 2010 on the streets or in their homes in the capital Tegucigalpa and in San Predro Sula Comayagüela and brutally murdered.The most recent case, occurred on 17 January.
