This region offers a mixed picture with regard to HIV and AIDS. Thus says the report in Djibouti and Sudan, of a generalized HIV epidemic, while in most other countries affected mainly certain groups of HIV, the general population have little or no contrast. In many states across existing stigma hinders effective HIV prevention.
Laith J. Abu-Raddad, main author of the report, emphasized in a presentation on 15 February 2011 in Washington, for the region is now subject to comprehensive HIV / AIDS from data.
