Death Threats against fashion designer from Turkey

One of the most famous gay man in Turkey gets now police protection after receiving death threats: The fashion designer Cemil İpekçi will be on a death list of the Turkish Hezbollah.

The Turkish Hezbollah caused in the 90's quite a stil with their murder of several moderate islamists. Earlier this year were dismissed several senior members from custody. It has nothing to do with the same organization in Lebanon.

Apparently, the fear that the group would plan new attacks proved to be true: During a police raid pictures of İpekçi and maps of his home in Istanbul have been found.
Now 3 civilian security officers are following him on every turn. During his stay in Bodrum in southwest Turkey the fashion designer told the newspaper 'Radikal' in an interview that he doesn't fear for his life.

Cemil İpekçi is considered a "conservative homosexuals," although the lives openly gay, but he still shares some ideas of the religious-conservative government. Among other things he supports an ban of the headscarf in Turkish universities.
