For ten years Liechtenstein discussed the law on registered partnership for gleichgeschlechtiche couples. Now it will surprise even but slightly earlier than foreseen in the draft laws. Originally, the entry into force of the new law only on 1 January 2012. The law was adopted in Parliament yesterday unanimously.
The members of the Liechtenstein parliament have been second in yesterday Reading now unanimously for the new law on registered partnership of same-sex couples (Partnership Act, Law on Political Parties) thereafter. After addressing the application of the Patriotic Union (VU) in the Act originally provided for the entry into force on 1 January 2012 to 1 September this year, brought forward, was adopted by a majority, can thus be received as of that date, same-sex partnerships in Liechtenstein. The constitutional monarchy is thus the 15th European Union country that creates such a legal institution.
